Waiting for the Printrbot is just killing me, but it is actually proving to be a bit of a blessing, since I have time to actually learn about 3D modeling. I hear this is helpful to know when 3D printing stuff. While I have a whole bunch of software at home I am playing with, my current favorite is Tinkercad.com. All I need is a webGL enabled browser, and bam! I am making 3D models online. It is a lot of fun, and I think that the limitations may actually help teach how to create simpler solutions for complex shapes. Check out some of my prototype bodies for le Derpy! The size is not to scale yet, but I am more focused on trying to see different ways to fit the parts together, and of course trying to make it nice looking.
