Here is a list of the parts and code needed if you want to replicate the current build of the Arduino Hexbug Spider. I will update this as it changes.
Hardware
- Robot
- 1x Hexbug Spider Robot
- 1x Arduino Pro Mini (5V)
- 1x Motor Driver 1A Dual TB6612FNG
- 1x Maxbotix XL-Maxsonar EZ1
- 1x XBee Explorer Regulated
- 2x XBee Series 1 (one for bot, one for controller)
1x Single AA Battery + 1.5V to 5V step-up (Motor power)- 1x Sparkfun Lithium Polymer USB Charger and Battery (Kit includes both USB charger & 900mAh LiPo battery)
- Another LiPo battery (for the motors)
- 1x LED
1x2x Packet of Sugru- Hookup Wire and/or Jumper cables
- Standoffs & Screws
- Headers & a few JST connectors
- A chunk of styrofoam or some other chassis
- InstaMorph or Shapelock for the body
1x Piezo Speaker
- Controller
- 1x Arduino Uno
- 1x Sparkfun Joystick Shield
- 1x Sparkfun XBee Shield
- 1x 9V + barrel Jack (or whatever power you prefer)
